The destinies of the Jewish population during the transports from Ostrava in 1939-1945
Grögerová, Anetta ; Roginer Hofmeister, Karin (advisor) ; Heroldová, Karolína (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with a regional-historical topic in connection with the Jewish transports from Ostrava in 1939-1945. The main aim of the thesis is to analyse selected testimonies of the survivors of the transports, the process of these deportations and to provide a missing insight into this region-specific and historical phenomenon. Above all, emphasis is placed on a neglected chapter of history, i.e. the very first transport of European Jews, which departed from the Ostrava railway station in 1939. And then the work deals with the transports to the Terezín ghetto between 1942 and 1945. A combination of classical identification of the subject matter using academic literature and recorded audio-visual interviews is used for this examination and subsequent comparison, drawing on the contents of the historical visual archive supported by the USC Shoah Foundation, thanks to access from the Malach Center for Visual History.

Klíčová slova Mezipředmětové vztahy, místní region, zeměpis, geografie, dějepis, Jáchymov, pracovní tábory Abstract This Bachelor thesis is devoted to interdisciplinary relations of geography and historiography in teaching of the local region in secondary schools and grammar schools. Interpretation of the Czech theme in the novel Jáchymov by the Austrian author Josef Haslinger
Sudová, Kristina ; Tvrdík, Milan (advisor) ; Markvartová, Eva (referee)
At the beginning, this bachelor's thesis deals with labor camps in the Jáchymov region, especially the camp Barbora, and radioactive baths, which are still functional today. It also deals with two epochs of post-war Austrian literature, which include the work of Josef Haslinger, author of the analyzed novel Jáchymov, the period of social liberal consensus from 1966 to 1989 and the period after the fall of the Iron Curtain (1989 to the present) and its influence on modern Austrian literature on the last few decades. The following chapter is devoted to the author himself, who wrote the novel in 2011. A separate chapter is devoted to the main character - hockey goalkeeper Bohumil Modrý, who was unjustly arrested and sentenced to 15 years in prison and a forced labor camp. The main topic is the analysis of the novel Jáchymov, the description of the characters, the plot and interpretation of Czech topics in this book, ie the political processes after the February coup in 1948, the Czechoslovak national hockey team, goalkeeper Bohumil Modrý and the Jáchymov area with forced labor camps where political prisoners had to mine in radioactive uranium mines. The work draws mainly from the novel Jáchymov and from the literary history of Wynfrid Kriegleder Eine kurze Geschichte der Literatur in Österreich,...
